‘What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men …… That is what love looks like.’ - St. Augustine

Orphanage Visit

We are back from the orphanage, but I am honestly too tired to post the details yet! I'll add a few photos and call it a night. I promise to post details in the next 12 hours! Just need some sleep first!

In their sunday best - little ones loving on their new dolls!

Nastia & Anya pass out gifts to the boys
Even older girls loved getting a doll...
Meet my shadow. Daniel followed me everywhere for 2 days. I think I'm in Love.

  3. Yes, though i didnt know his name then. My heart is breaking for him. He is one of the few quiet "good" boys who just tries to be helpful. but he's socially awkward and fearful...much like Nast was. But he stuck to me like GLUE for 2 days and we had some weird serendipitous experiences with him. I dreamt of meeting a "Daniel" there before I went, and he was the first boy to show up when I arrived. When Nastia and I visited the school today, she said " I keep thinking of that boy Daniel.." and JUST as she said it, he came around a corner...headed out of his class to go to the bathroom ( i.e. pee outside) He was so happy to see us he took this BIG in-breath but said nothing. Smiled, took my hand and stayed with us. I know at the very least i'm being called to pray for him fervently, which I am already doing....

  6. Your heart for children is so big I'm not surprised you're in love with yet another. You'd adopt them all if it were possible. Children can easily sense when someone cares as much as you do, even if they can't put a name to what they're sensing.

  7. I love the pic of Anya, so proud and obviously excited to give the gifts. Please be my arms and give as many hugs to those kids as you possibly can! Praying for you to have strength and Agape love!

  10. Love the adorable girls in their tights and big bows. So classic Russian orphanage style, and so sweet.

Looking forward to hearing more about your orphanage visits. What a treasure for Nastia and Anya to be on the giving side of these visits.

  11. P.S. Maybe it is just the photo, but does anyone else see a resemblance between Daniel and Dasha??
