‘What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men …… That is what love looks like.’ - St. Augustine

Making This Blog Private

FYI, I will be making my this blog private while we are living in Kemerovo. The Russian goverment is not that keen on personal blogs as it is, and there have been a few people in the Kemerovo region arrested for what they've posted on their blogs. So, just to be on the safe-side, I will be going private tomorrow evening.

Those who already subscribe or follow should be fine. If you know anyone who reads this blog but does not yet subscribe or follow, let them know now is the time.

I will likely be unable to blog until we arrive in Kemerovo on Thursday, but I will if I find an internet cafe before that. I also don't know just how often I'll realistically be able to get to the internet cafe in Kemerovo to post. My hope is to do it daily, but I know that I'll have to wait and see.

I would LOVE to blog from the orphanage, but I don't know how I would do that. Does anyone know if I can purchase wireless coverage while I am over there? I can't do it from here ..the roaming charges are crazy! But if you have travelled or lived overseas and know how I might have wireless for the duration of my trip, let me know.

*See* you all in a few days!  Huge thanks to every one of you who has helped to make this adventure a reality! Here we go!

  1. I'm subscribed on google reader but I don't know if that counts. I just want to make sure I make the cut! I'm so excited for your adventure--what you're doing is really, really inspirational.

  2. You might have to wait until you're actually there to explore that option. As remote as the orphanage is, there may be no wireless coverage available. Any luck on the house/pet sitter issue yet?

  3. I subscribe to a reader, but generally when a blog goes private I don't get the feed. Could you add me please?

Best of luck on your journey. I will hold you and your daughters in my thoughts!

  17. Have a safe trip. I think that I am a follower do I shouldn't fine but I know when other blogger blogs have gone private they could only invite a hundred people to be readers, that might be an issue considering how many followers you. Just thought I would let you know

  21. I hope I'll be following you - I think I'm already following you now. My prayers will be with you. Don't worry so much about Nastia or about your pets - God will help with both, and in the long run, Nastia will know how much you love her and will see such a dramatic example of true love in action. Y'all be careful.
