‘What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men …… That is what love looks like.’ - St. Augustine

Cleaning House and Being Careful

So, I spoke too soon. It turns out blogger does not make it easy to privatize a blog. I need to manually submit every single email of every interested reader and there is a limit. I just don't have the time! So, I'm going to try a plan B, which I'm not crazy about...censoring myself while I am there.

Because of the delicate  nature of our situation with Anya and also because of the recent arrests in Kemerovo of bloggers, I am going to have to keep things very simple while I am there. I plan to blog the truth, but may have to hold off on posting some of what I write till we return. I just can't say anything too negative about the region, the government, or anything else that might offend. It will be a test in patience, as I pride myself on speaking exactly what I think and feel. Problem is, I will not be in America. As they say, 'when in Rome'...

So, I will even have to take this post down while I am there! But I'm leaving it up until I get to Russia so that most of you will be aware of why my blog has suddenly gotten so happy and shiny (wink).

For the info I want to post about the orphanage kids, I may have to simply post it on my facebook page, which is fully private. That way I can post the real story. The one I tell here may be a little sanitized until I get home.

Thanks for taking this journey with me. I know I'm not alone.

See you on the other side of the Atlantic!

  1. You are wise. . . . be careful. Keep your head down and your ears perked up. I am on your FB site for bringing home Anya. Is there some way to join your personal FB (which is where I assume you'll be posting the uncensored truth)?? Please let me know if you can. happymom4@gmail.com is how you can get in touch with me.

  2. Oh my, that would be a daunting task. At least there's still the FB group. Given how sensitive they are to criticism, perhaps the post regarding your experience at the consulate in NYC should also come down?

  4. Hi Keri, I tried this once already, let's see if it works this time. Are you talking about the Bring Anya Home group or your private fb? I would love to be able to follow along. You can find me by looking for Kelley Penrod Farrand.
How is Nastia doing? I know she was struggling before. Is it better now that you are so close to being able to see Anya?
    Love, Kelley

  6. Wise choice. And I agree about the Russian consult one too--shame to lose the comments, but yet it would be better to be safe than sorry.

Too bad you did not have time to work out a code with your readers! My great aunt Rosalie and great uncle Bill somehow managed to use a code in the correspondece they sent back and forth when he was actively fighting in WWII--she even knew where he was and where he was going. But the letters looked like normal to the war censors, and so they got through. ; )
