‘What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men …… That is what love looks like.’ - St. Augustine

Update Coming!!!

I PROMISE to get an update about the Thanksgiving Feast up here before I go to bed tonight, but right now  (as we got home late last night from the orphanage) I have to clean our entire apartment, pack, say goodbye to all my new Siberian friends, feed my kitties, and prepare for the 34 hour marathon of travel ahead of us.

But I will give you a teaser: the last two days spent at the orphanage with the kids were absolutely two of the BEST DAYS OF MY ENTIRE 45 YEARS! 'SPECTACULAR' doesn't even come close to describing it.

Thank you everyone! I couldnt have done it without you!!!!
12 years old and still wants to sit on my lap:) I love you Daniel!

  3. I just read your entire month of November in one sitting and now I am feeling tremendously guilty about not sending you the letter I have been meaning to write. I have a good excuse, but if you think I am going to whine about it here, well, I am not that pathetic yet...

Reading about Dasha, I burst into tears. Not because I thought you would be sad, but because I knew you would be happy! And I am too. (Although I really think you could have taken one of those Ukranian grannies up on marrying her nephew!)

I love the new photo. It needs snow though. Photoshop it.

Your son is beautiful! I am so happy that he will be coming home eventually. And I have a 12 year old too. He speaks no Russian, but he is incredibly nice and can teach Daniel all the American swears right away!

You're in my prayers as you travel and I hope to see you soon. Which in our friendship means that I will probably be at Daniel's high school graduation party.

    xoxo

  5. I am very happy for you....

And a little worried about you. The comedown, back-to-reality won't be easy...

So glad you have such a great reason to go back.
