‘What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men …… That is what love looks like.’ - St. Augustine

Going Away for a Few Days

Folks, sometimes a geographical cure is the right thing. Nastia is really grieving hard, a good thing in the long run, but she is finding it unbearable to be home with all the reminders of Dasha....her room, her toys, her drawings on the fridge.... so we are heading out.

We do an annual mother-daughter camping trip, and well, we're just going to take it earlier. We will not have access to phone or email, and I'm not yet sure how long we'll stay...playing it by ear.

Lots to think about while we are away. Looks like we will possibly visit Dasha at the end of our trip to Siberia this month, thanks to a check I received today from a dear, dear, DEAR friend who sent us a generous amount -- with the strict instructions that it be used for the side trip to Dasha, if its allowed. I wish I could shout her praises from the rooftops, but she doesn't want me sharing her name. She doesn't even read my blog, so I can't even praise her here in hopes that she'll read it..lol.

My whole focus now is preparing for our upcoming reunion with Anya, and, God willing, hosting Dasha in December.

Peace to all of you. Keep us in your prayers, as you are in ours.

Enjoy your camping getaway! You both deserve it. I've always found that there is nothing more soothing to the soul than having a relaxing disconnect in mother nature. I'll be thinking of you both! ♥

  4. My guess is that Nastya also has a lot to think about regarding her great good fortune, in comparison to the difficulties experienced by Dasha and her sister. It is hard for most of us to realize how lucky we are, but Nastya has it pounded home again and again. Have fun, you two. She's blessed to have a mother and you're blessed to have a daughter! We are blessed to get to know you a little bit.
