‘What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men …… That is what love looks like.’ - St. Augustine

Truth or.....DARE

Annie, over at one of my favorite blogs, posted this challenge.

The assignment: Take a picture of yourself RIGHT NOW.

DON’T change your clothes. DON’T fix your hair. Just take a picture.

Post that picture with NO editing.

Post these instructions with your picture.

Note: This may just be the gutsiest thing I do all year, so be appreciative :)

So, just like Annie, I feel an explanation is in order. I do have a bit of make-up on in this photo because I just had to run out to CVS and I looked like death warmed over...so I fixed myself up a bit in case I ran into anyone of note :) I also had to take this photo in my bathroom because then I can use the mirror to see if I actually have my head in the frame! Lastly, I hate this photo but I'm going to be brave. I'm going to set an example for all the other terrified bloggers out there who fear the dreaded unedited, spontaneous photo of themselves. You can do it, girls. I'm right behind you -with a little lipstick on..lol.
PS: if you do this dare, leave a comment so I can go check yours out :)

  2. I think you look great, too! I wanted to do this but my lovely husband took the batteries out of the camera and into one of his tools. Lovely, huh? Lovely hmph.

  3. hmm...maybe that's why I have a plethora of working batteries in my house -- no husband!

  4. i can't believe you thought that was a bad picture! I saw the pic before the post and then read the post and was like WHAT?! You don't know from "natural!" Since I have no decorum, I do that kinda thing all the time, but I always look WAY bad! you look totally awesome and normal! I spit on you!

  5. Dearest Peewee,

We are each our own worst critics, n'est pas? When I look at that photo, I see my neck fat first, then my drooping eyes, and finally my "hooky" nose (as my daughter calls it). If you see "totally awesome" may I suggest you
move in so I can balance out my daughter's daily assessment of me ("you're old mom, face it") with yours? I'll start clearing out the catch-all room right now. Feel free to bring any blind friends you have, too :)

  6. Love seeing pics of fellow bloggers. You look very nice by the way. Nothing like I'd look in a spur of the moment photo

  7. That's an adorable photo! And I'm proud of you! I thought that if I could do this - anyone could....But so few people did it! (Though they mentioned it and demured.)
