Open Letter to Those Who Have Asked...

Several followers have messaged me to ask why I've gone MIA. My whole life has been taken up with one cause, as of late. It affords me no time to blog, because literally all my time is taken up with mothering my daughter and dealing with this current crisis. New to my Blog? Here are the Basics

~ Adopted daughter #1 from Russia in 2005. ~Adopted daughter #2 from Latvia in 2014. ~ Spent the last 11 years trying to bring my daughter #1's bio sister home. ~ Won't give up until she is with us. ~ We spent three months living Siberia in 2010, so the girls could be together. ~ I am a lifelong New Englander. ~ I am a cradle Irish Catholic. ~ I pray the rosary nightly. ~ I've travelled all over the world. ~ I've taught Shakespeare for nearly 30 years. ~ I'm an idealist and an optimist. ~ I take in strays - animals and people. ~ I never met a child I didn't love. ~ Added 8/15: I am currently battling Lyme Disease and several co-infections

Where Your Money Went

For almost 10 years, you helped me raise money for my daughter's former orphanage. Sadly, I can no longer raise funds for the children from Orphanage #5, because it closed in June 2015. But we accomplished a lot over the years - and I thank you. Here is what you, my readers, did for the children from 2006-2015.

Your donations have funded:

1. All new furniture in the common rooms (2011)

2. 16 new beds for the girls' room (2008)

3. An updated girls' bathroom (2007)

4. On-going support for medical supplies and clothing (2006-11)

5. A small library (100 books in 2010)

6. Two washing machines (2012)

7. Four televisions and three DVD players. (2009 and 10)

8. 100 educational and/or inspiring children's videos.

9. Arts and craft supplies for 100 children.

10. A new printer for their office.

11. Christmas and Thanksgiving Feasts for all the children for 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

12. School supplies, educational toys and countless other incidentals from 2006 - 2015.
